Lyn Veaver 's first Story
Lyn's story
Lyn Veaver a pilot and maintenance worker twisted and turned in her sleep. She dreamed about that fateful day on her home planet of Zoness. Lyn waved goodbye to her mom and dad. She was almost 16,and her birthday was in one week.She ran to her friend Jackie. She was going to Jackie's house to go vist Jackie's cousin Max for a week. Little did she know that see would never see her mom or dad again.
"Come on Lyn!"Jackie said.
"You know I can't keep up with you Jackie!"Lyn yelled to her friend and classmate.
Jackie Champ was a cheetah and a fast one at that. They got to Jackie's house just before they had to go.
"WOW!" Lyn said looking at Max's house, which was in Corneria City.
"Cool huh?" Max asked.
"Yea I love the view of the city."
"Want to see the pool out back?" Max asked her.
"Sure why not." They went on a tour of the house and then the neiborhood.Then two days later...
"Lyn come quick!!! There is a new flash about Zoness!" Jackie yelled up the stairs.
"Zoness?Alright I'm coming!"She got down stairs before the reporter started.The news reporter said,"There has been an atack on Zoness.All transporters have been destoryed..."
"Mom,dad no!"Lyn screamed. She realized she was in her bedroom. "Oh not that dream again!"
She said with a growl in her voice.Later that day she ran into Jackie.
"Oh hi Jackie."Lyn said.
"You alright Lyn?I heard you scream lastnight.Did you have that dream again?"She asked.
"Yup.This is the second time this week I've had it."
"You poor thing."Jackie started to walk off.
"Oh yeah I almost forgotto give you this." It was a letter, that said:
Lyn Veaver,
Your plane is ready.Come to the East garage to take it for a spin.
Yours truly,
Jason Scot
P.S.Are you alright?I haven't seen you in a week.
Oh Jason.You really should stop worrying about me. Lyn thought as she made her way to the east
garage.She would have fixed her ship herself but she had been sick for the past week.
"Hey J."She said when she got to the garage.
"Hi Lyn.Where have you been?"Jason asked. Jason was a jackel. He and
Lyn were friends since she came to Corneria City.
"Oh I was sick for a week, sorry I didn't tell you."
"It's alright."He was working on a broken engine.
"So where is my plane?" Lyn asked him.
He pointed to a corner."Over there."
"Thanks."
"No problem Lyn."Her plane was just like an Ar-wing but smaller,it was also orange and black.
"Ready to blast the venom pigs that killed my mom and dad?" She asked her plane.
"Lyn I'm going out for a minute can you watch the place for a minute?"
"Sure." She heard a thud."Jason?" She turned around and saw Jason on the ground."Jason!" She ran over to him and checked his pluse. He was fine but still she wondered what happened. She called for help. A few minutes later Jason was at the clinic.Jason woke up after an hour.
"Wha..what happened?Lyn?"
"Ya it's me. Are you alright?"
"Yea I'm alright." Jason checked out to be fine.
"I just don't understand it. Why did you just fall like that?"
"I don't know Lyn. I just don't know." He looked at his watch."I'll see you later I have to get some sleep."
"Ok. Bye Jason." Lyn went home and looked at the clock. It said
12:00AM. She set her clock for
9:00. She held her locket in her hand. It was the last thing her parents gave her before she left for Corneria. She opened it, it played her favorite song, "My Only Love", and there was a family picture. "Oh mom,dad I miss you so much. Why didn't you come with me?!" She started to cry.She put her locket on the nightstand. She cryed herself to sleep that night.
"Hey Falco have you seen Slippy?" Fox asked.
"He told me he was going to the hardware store.Something about picking up a screwdriver.Then he was going to the garage after that." Falco told Fox.
"I need to get to the garage." Slippy wispered himself as he ran toward the east garage.He ran head-on into a female Lynx who slammed into the wall hiting her arm on a table.
"AHH! MY ARM!"She screamed while holding her left arm. Slippy ran over to her.
"Are you alright?" He asked.
"Does it look like I'm alright?!" She got up.
"You're going to wish you weren't born when I'm through with you!" She raised her claws.
"Hey leave him alone lady!" Falco yelled at her.
"Who do think you are?"
"Falco Lombardi and your worst nightmare if you don't leave my friend alone."
"Humph." She walked away towards the clinic holding her hurt arm. Falco found a locket on the ground.
"HEY I THINK YOU DROPED THIS!" He yelled. "Oh well she'll come back looking for it."
"You can't come to work today? What happened Lyn?" Jason asked Lyn when she called him.
"Some toad rammed into me and broke my arm." She explained to
Jason."Alright Lyn I'll cover for
ya. Hey one of my friends is here."
"Who is it?" She asked.
"Slippy Toad."
"Oh yeah Slippy Toad on the Starfox team. Can you put him on the viewer?"
"Yeah sure. Give me a second." She heard him yell. "Hey Slippy! My friend wants to talk to you."
She heard a high voice answer."ya ok." he walked over.
"You?!You broke my arm!"
"What the hell is up with you Lyn?" Jason's face showed up on the viewer again.
"He is the one that broke my arm!"
"I'm sorry alright! Oh yeah my friend found a locket and I...." Slippy started to speak when Lyn interupted. "My locket?!"
"Yea It broke and fell by Falco's feet."
"Where is he?! Oh never mind I'll find him myself." She disconnected the link.
"How do you know her Jason?"
"She works here."
Slippy gulped "SHE works HERE?!"
"Yup. Her locket means alot to her."
"Why?"
"Well you see her parent were kill about..well in one week they will be dead for 2 years. And they gave it to her before she left."
"Two years? Poor girl."
"Well you better get going before she finds Falco."
"Computer. Where is Falco Lombardi?" Lyn asked her computer.
"Falco Lombardi is at the bar." The machine answered.
"The bar huh? Thank you computer." She ran out into the hall towards
the bar.
"Damn where he? He should be here by now." Falco complained. He had
been waiting for Fox to meet him at the bar. "I said a hour. Not an hour and a half!" He saw someone coming they had their arm in a sling. "Oh it's you. You must be Lyn."
"Yes.Give me my locket."
"Give me one good reason I should."
"Well I'll punch the living daylights out of you if you don't."
"Oh? And how are you going to do that with that busted arm you got?"
"Easy I'll just bash your head in with my cast. Or I'll just..."She snached her locket from Falco and ran like her tail was on fire.
"Damnit."
"Hey Jackie want to go to the bar tonight?" Lyn asked her friend over the viewer.
"Sure Lyn.How is your arm?"
"It's healing great."
"How about we go in a hour?"
"Sure. I'll meet you there."
Falco was on his couch changing from channel to channel "Damn I'm so bored." He decided to call Fox and Slippy. "Hey guys want to go to the bar in a hour?"
"Sure." They both answered at the same time.
"Great, see ya guys there."
Lyn was at a table sipping a rootbeer schnapps. She saw Jackie
comming, and Lyn could tell she had been eating her peppermint blend. She sat down next to Lyn.
"Hey you want some?" She asked offering some of her peppermint.
"I can't understand how you can eat that stuff."Lyn said pushing the hot peppermint candy away. She looked acrose the bar and saw Falco laughing with Slippy and somebody she couldn't see.
"Yo Lyn." Jackie interupted her train of thought.
"Huh?"
"I asked you what you were looking at."
"Oh nothing."She lied. She laughed to herself.
"What's so funny?"
Lyn pointed at Falco.
"You see that Falcon over there with the Toad?"
Jackie looked over to where Lyn pointed."Yea...."
"Give him some of your candy."
Jackie looked confused. "Why?"
I want to see his reaction." Lyn looked at Falco with a sneer.Jackie realized what she ment.
"Oh you want him to burn his beak off?"
"You got it Jackie."
"OK." She went over to Falco and offered him some. He toke it and ate it. Lyn begain to laugh when he acted like he had a fire in his mouth. Slippy gave Falco some water. She left when he cooled down.
"That was mean Lyn."she told herself."Yea, well he deserved it."
"Who deserved what?" Lyn jumped. "Don't do that Jason!"
"Sorry Lyn. Now who deserved what?"
"You know Falco Lombardi?"
"Yea."
"I told Jackie to give him some of her peppermint blend."
"Not the stuff that feels like fire in your mouth!"
"Yup."
"Oh Lyn that was really uncalled for!"
"Sorry. I don't like him, he doesn't like me."
"It still isn't right!"
"Your not my dad. You can't tell me what to do!" Lyn ran off.
"Lyn wait!"
Lyn was packing her things. She was leaving. "I'll go to Fortuna. I always wanted to go there."
She said to herself. "I never want to comeback here again. I'll take my plane. Nobody will notice." She went to the garage,got in her plane and left.
"Where's Lyn?" Jackie asked Jason.
"I don't know. Her plane is gone."He replied.
"Who's plane is gone?" Slippy asked. He heard them talking.
"Lyn's gone."
"She is?"
"Yup. Didn't leave anything behind."Man where would she go? Where would I go if I were her? Jason thought to himself. She always said she wanted to go to Fortuna.
"I think she went to Fortuna." Jason told them.
"Why would she go there?"
"Why not? Andross toke it over and nobody would want to go there anyway. The perfect place to go to hide out! You want to go Slippy?" He asked.
"I'll go." Fara heard the whole thing. "Besides, she could get hurt. It's not safe on Fortuna."
"Alright I'll go." Slippy said.
"Fine we'll go right away."
Lyn walked into a bar. She saw four pilot that standed out from the crowd. A wolf, chameleon,
pig ,and a monkey. She knew they were the Starwolf team. She sat down besides Wolf.
"One rootbeer schnapps." She ordered
"OK lady." The bartender handed her the drink.
"Thanks."
"Hey wolf look at the Lynx next to you. Isn't she cute?" The ape whispered to the Wolf.
"Yea so what?" The Wolf snapped.
"I wonder if she wants to go out with me."
"Yea right! Like she'd want to go out with you. I bet she can beat you at fighting anytime."
The chameleon commented. "Yea right. I don't think so. I could beat her."
Lyn started to laugh. "You beat me?!That's a laugh!"
"I could beat you!" The ape, Andrew, yelled.
"Yea right, and birds can't fly."Andrew jumped at her. They fought. And in the end Lyn won.
"Ha! That was like fighting a kit." Lyn stated.
"You lost to a girl Andrew!" Wolf laughed.
"Hey what's your name anyway?" Leon asked her.
"Lyn Veaver."
"Please to meet you."He put his hand out.
"Uh I have to go." She left quickly.
"What's up with her?" Pigma asked.
"I can't believe it. I almost made friends with Starwolf. Lyn shuddered. It was nearly 0 degrees.
"I have to get to a hotel quick before I freeze my tail off." She checked her pockets in her coat.
"Great.I only have ten credit dollars!" She went to her plane and got out a small box.
"I hope I didn't take anything before." She opened it.There were sixty credit dollars.
"Yes!" She toke it and went to the nearest hotel.
"May I help you?" A Hawk asked her. "How much is a room?"
"Fifteen credits."
"Here." She handed fifteen to him. He handed her a key.
"Third floor.Room 303."
"Thanks." She went up the stairs to her room. She went in and fell a sleep on the bed.
"Where is she?" Jason asked.
"What is the cheapest hotel?" Fara asked him.
"That one." Slippy pointed to a hotel called: The Lazy Cat.
"A room costs fifteen credits."
"I'll go.You guys stay here."He entered The Lazy Cat.
"May I help you?" The same hawk that greeted Lyn asked.
"Have you seen a Lynx lately?"
"Yea she came in a hour ago."
"What room is she in?"
"Third floor room 303."
"Thank you." He went to the room Lyn was in,and knocked. No answer.
"LYN OPEN UP!" He heard a groan.
"Who..who is is it?"
"It's me,Jason."
"Jason? What are you doing here?" She opened the door.
"I came to find you."
"Well you're goin' home empty handed 'cause I'm not going anywhere."
"Oh come on Lyn. You need to come back!"
"Ok, ok I'll go. Let me get my stuff." She got her suitcase and left with Jason. Next thing she new she was off on a train to the Corneria Flight Academy. There she met Finnius, Flyer,and Tourican.
